Wet Sediment Basin
The Wet Sediment Basin uses a specific design of capture basin to diffuse the energy of the flow and let the sediment settle and be captured inside the basin while allowing the water to continue its flow unabated. We use the energy in the flow to carry and disperse the sediment. This is the basis of our catch phrase
Where Used
The Wet Sediment Basin is used in medium to high velocity sites where no headloss available. It can be installed as an option for a Gross Pollutant trap or installed as a trap in its own right.

Target Pollutant Class
The Wet Sediment Basin is targeting the capture of Sediment pollution class.
Water Sources / Velocity
The Wet Sediment Basin is primarily used for sites with medium to high velocity flows. The Wet Sediment Basin is suitable for treating the following water sources:
- Pipes
- Channels
- Culverts
- V-Drains
- Natural Flows
Grades
The Wet Sediment Basin is suitable for grades from less than 0.05% to to any grade. Please note while we can cater for high grades some design modification may be required.
Treatable Flow
The Wet Sediment Basin is suitable for treating flows from as low as a 3 month ARI to a 100 year ARI.
We don't treat the "first flush", we treat the whole flow for the duration of the event.
Configuration
Size
The size of the Dual Vane Trap is dependent on the:
- Cross Sectional area of the Water Source,
- Velocity,
- Grade,
- Treatable Flow

Access to a Wet Sediment Basin is dependent on if it is a standalone solution or part of a combined solution.
Installation
Standard equipment and modular construction combine to make installation convenient with minimum interruption or alteration to existing conditions. Deep excavation is not a required with the Wet Sediment Basin.
Cleaning
Cleaning of the Wet Sediment Basin is carried out manually.
